How do companies talk to children?
For some reason i could only find nostalgic children's TV adverts. Maybe they are more of a commodity nowadays?
However we can still take useful information from these commercials.

Advert for Milkyway the chocolate bar. The target audience is obviously children. There approach to entice the children was to use a cartoon, bright colours, catchy theme tune, and a good guy, bad guy scenario.
This commercial is for a butter called Vitalite. Not too sure if this is just for children but they have used all of the techniques above that would both interest and engage the children.
This advert is far more sophisticated fro the rest of the bunch. There is no sign of a catchy jingle or bright annoying colours that might brainwash the children. However they have created a monster that terrorizes london. The only way to stop this monster is to feed him 'Chewits'. Genius. Still the use of a giant monster will always appeal to children. Maybe creating a character that children can warm to and recognize is essential.
The recognizable 'Um Bongo' commercial. This is 20 seconds worth of colour, fun and cartoons. I have included this because i still remember the theme tune 18 years later. Although jingles have been tarnished and seem a little dated - its a good thing to keep in mind if we are wanting to teach children core values.
Ahhh. Toys'r'us. Those were the days. Again this commercial aimed at children using cartoon characters. A constant them that keeps on popping up. Something to keep in mind for sure.
These next two commercials have incorporated a jingle to advertise children's chocolate bars. Two of my favorite may i add. Trio and Club. Again one uses cartoon characters, the other uses playful children wearing bright clothing, but both use catchy jingles. I can still remember all the words to both. Imagine if instead these catchy jingles were had ethical values. The children would have subliminally learnt these values and have them etched into their minds for life. Muhahahahaha! Joe and Tom shall rule ze vorld.
